AR, CR and ARCR modeling for simulations and analyses of karst groundwater quality parameters
Although an invisible component of the hydrologic cycle, groundwater generally takes precedence over other water resources in the area of drinking water supply. Among groundwater resources, karst aquifers tend to be rich in sufficiently-accessible amounts of high-quality water. During most of the year, this water requires only disinfection prior to delivery to the end user. However, in many cases extreme rainfall and/or sudden snow melt results in transient turbidity, increase in bacterial count and temporary contamination (e.g. increase in ...autocorrelation, cross-correlation, autoregressive model, cross-regressive model, autocross regressive model, nitrates, Banja Spring, Serbia.Vesna Ristić-Vakanjac, Marina Ćokorilo-Ilić, Petar Papić, Dušan Polomčić, Radisav Golubović. Keyword-Based Search on Bilingual Digital Libraries
This paper outlines the main features of Biblisha, a tool that offers various possibilities of enhancing queries submitted to large collections of aligned parallel text residing in bilingual digital library. Biblishsa supports keyword queries as an intuitive way of specifying information needs. The keyword queries initiated, in Serbian or English, can be expanded, both semantically, morphologically and in other language, using different supporting monolingual and bilingual resources. Terminological and lexical resources are of various types, such as wordnets, electronic ...Ranka Stanković, Cvetana Krstev, Duško Vitas, Nikola Vulović, Olivera Kitanović. Using Lexical Resources for Irony and Sarcasm Classification
The paper presents a language dependent model for classification of statements into ironic and non-ironic. The model uses various language resources: morphological dictionaries, sentiment lexicon, lexicon of markers and a WordNet based ontology. This approach uses various features: antonymous pairs obtained using the reasoning rules over the Serbian WordNet ontology (R), antonymous pairs in which one member has positive sentiment polarity (PPR), polarity of positive sentiment words (PSP), ordered sequence of sentiment tags (OSA), Part-of-Speech tags of words (POS) ...Miljana Mladenović, Cvetana Krstev, Jelena Mitrović, Ranka Stanković.
Reducing environmental impact caused by mining activities in limestone mines
Radmila Gaćina, Bojan Dimitrijević (2022)Mining and its related activities have always resulted in changes in the environment and these changes can vary from one area to another. As a result of mining, several types of changes can be distinguished: destruction of land and existing vegetation, changes in terrain topography, modification in air quality, changes in surface and groundwater quality, as well as change geotechnical conditions of the rock. Environmental impact of mining have been a public concern. There is widespread global interest in mining ...Radmila Gaćina, Bojan Dimitrijević. Fault type assessment based on vertical gravity gradient anomalies – advantages and limitations
The type of dip-slip faults can be assessed based on the analysis of vertical gravity gradients. Theoretically, just a simple comparation of the gradient extreme values can give us an answer whether the fault is normal or reverse (thrust). Practical application of this method is far more complicated and the results depend on a number of parameters, such as a complexity of geological setting, the quality of gravity data, dip angle and displacement of the fault, density contrast, etc. ...Ivana Vasiljević, Snežana Ignjatović, Branislav Sretković. Transboundary groundwater resource management: needs for monitoring the Cijevna River Basin (Montenegro–Albania)
The transboundary Cijevna River Basin shared between Albania and Montenegro has a surface area of 650 km2. It is extremely important for water management, especially in the country of Montenegro which is downstream. Due to the high permeability of both the karst and intergranular aquifers that exist in the basin, the River Cijevna sinks along the length of its riverbed and in summer months it usually dries up completely at the confluence section. Hydrometry surveys undertaken during a drought ...Upravljanje međugraničnim vodama, ranjivost podzemnih voda, monitoring mreža, karstne izdani, Albanija, Crna GoraMomčilo Blagojević, Zoran Stevanović, Milan Radulović, Veljko Marinović, Branislav Petrović. Challenges in using wastewater heat pumps in district heating systems
Dejan Ivezić, Marija Živković, Aleksandar Madžarević, Boban Pavlović, Dušan Danilović, Dimitrije Manić (2022)Decarbonization of district heating systems requires ensuring significant amounts of renewable energy available in the proximity of the district heating network. One of the promising solutions is the utilization of purified water from wastewater treatment plants by heat pumps. However, as a heat source, wastewater treatment plants are characterized by annual variability of the flow and temperature of purified water. The consequence is the variability of recoverable heat potential. In this paper, the effect of variability is analyzed for ...Dejan Ivezić, Marija Živković, Aleksandar Madžarević, Boban Pavlović, Dušan Danilović, Dimitrije Manić. The first record of nautiloids (Cenoceras intermedius) from the early Pliensbachian of Rgotina, (Getic nappe, eastern Serbia)
Cenoceras intermedius (J. Sowerby) is one of the most widespread species among the Early Jurassic nautiloid fauna and its geological range still controversial up to the present day. The specimen of Cenoceras intermedius from the sandy bioclastic limestones of Rgotina (Getic nappe of eastern Serbia), is a large half conch representing the phragmocone. Viewing our findings in light of previous results suggests the main morphological changes occurred during the ontogenetic evolution. Steel Arch Support Deformations Forecast Model Based on Grey–Stochastic Simulation and Autoregressive Process
Relatively large deformations of the steel arch support in underground coal mines in the Republic of Serbia present one of the main problems for achieving the planned production of coal. Climate change and their imapct on karst groundwater
Milan Đelić, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac (2021)In the last 30 years, there have been progressively more dry and rainy years, a reduced presence or even absence of snow cover, an increase in air temperature, large-scale fires, intensified glacier melting, and the like. Climate change certainly has an effect on all areas of economic activity, but its largest impact is on water resources and existing ecosystems. One of the most important water resources is groundwater, on account of which more than 70% of the population of ...Milan Đelić, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac . Bioleaching Process for Copper Extraction from Waste in Alkaline and Acid Medium
Flotation wastes are becoming a valuable secondary raw material and source of many metals and semimetals worldwide with the possibilities of industrial recycling. The flotation tailings contain oxide and sulfide minerals that have not been sufficiently stabilized and form acidic mine waters, which in turn contaminate groundwater, rivers, and reservoi6sediments. An effective way to recycle these mine wastes is to recover the metals through leaching. While the focus is on acid bioleaching by iron- and sulfur-oxidizing bacteria, alkaline leaching, ...Ivica Ristović, Darina Štyriaková, Iveta Štyriaková, Jaroslav Šuba, Emilija Širadović.
