Clockwise vertical-axis rotation in the West Vardar zone of Serbia: Tectonic implications
The Vardar-Tethyan mega-suture between the Eurasian and Adria (Gondwana) margins comprises remnants of oceanic lithosphere of Neotethys and distal parts of the adjacent continental margins including unconformable Late Cretaceous sedimentary cover and Cenozoic igneous rocks of post-obduction age. This study provides kinematic constraints for displacements and rotations affecting the Serbian part of the West Vardar and Jadar-Kopaonik units after the closure of the Neotethyan (= Sava) Ocean. Curcumin nanonization using an alternative small-scale production unit: selection of proper stabilizer applying basic physicochemical consideration and biological activity assessment of nanocrystals
Ines Nikolić, Jelena Antić-Stanković, Dragana Božić, Danijela Ranđelović, Bojan Marković, Dominique Jasmin Lunter, Aleksandar Kremenović, Miroslav Savić, Snežana Savić (2020)As the number of poorly soluble drugs is increasing, nanocrystals have become very interesting due to wide range of application possibilities. Curcumin was used as a model active ingredient in this work. Even though it has many proven positive effects, due to its physicochemical issues, its possibilities have not been fully exploited. The goal of this work was to select optimal conditions for a top-down method for curcumin nanosuspension production, and to perform their comprehensive characterization applying complementary methodologies: ...Ines Nikolić, Jelena Antić-Stanković, Dragana Božić, Danijela Ranđelović, Bojan Marković, Dominique Jasmin Lunter, Aleksandar Kremenović, Miroslav Savić, Snežana Savić. Frequency and Length of Syllables in Serbian
Marija Radojičić, Biljana Lazić, Sebastijan Kaplar, Ranka Stanković, Ivan Obradović, Ján Mačutek, Lívia Leššová (2019)Basic analyses of several properties of syllables (the rank-frequency distribution, the distribution of length, and the relation between length and frequency) in Serbian is presented. The syllabification algorithm used combines the maximum onset principle and the sonority hierarchy. Results indicate that syllables behave similarly to words as far as mathematical models are concerned, but values of parameters in models for syllables are quite different from those for words.... study of syllable properties, as different definitions – which are to be expected if there is no established approach – inevitably lead to results which are not comparable (at the very least not directly). Litijum u mineralnim vodama Srbije – potencijalna lekovita svojstva
The influence of structural modification of Pd(II) pincer-type complexes on the kinetics of substitution reactions
Snežana Jovanović Stević, Snežana Radisavljević, Aleksandar Mijatović, Biljana Petrović, Ana Kesić (2023)This mini-review summarizes the kinetic data obtained for the substitution reactions of some palladium(II) complexes containing bis-pyrazolylpyridine derivatives as pincer-type ligands with biologically significant nitrogen- and sulfur-donor biomolecules as nucleophiles. Three structurally different palladium(II) complexes were selected: [Pd(L1)Cl]+ (Pd1), [Pd(L2)Cl]+ (Pd2) and [Pd(L3)Cl]+ (Pd3) (where L1 = bis(2-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)ethyl)amine, L2 = 2,6-bis(5-(tert-butyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine, and L3 = 2,6-bis(5-(tert-butyl)-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine, while for the entering nucleophiles were used thiourea (Tu), L-methionine (L-met), and guanosine-5’-monophosphate (5’-GMP). A contribution to the understanding of the discharge dynamics and water balance of the karst spring Gornji Dušnik (Suva Planina)
A sufficiently long time-series of daily discharges is needed to assess the discharge dynamics and calculate the water balance equation parameters of a spring (river source). The paper assumes that a catchment is gauged if a time-series of observations of at least 30 years is available, which is a rare case in Serbia. One-year monitoring is often set up to verify the reserves of a water source or spring intended for capture. Monitoring ceases after the final report is ...Aleksandar Tanasković, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Dušan Polomčić, Jelena Ratković. Mathematical modeling to define catchment size and real evapotranspiration (case study: Andrića karst spring, Western Serbia)
Marina Čokorilo Ilić, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Dušan Polomčić, Dragoljub Bajić, Jelena Ratković, Bojan Hajdin (2018)Water resources in karst are extremely important sources of drinking water supply. The quality of groundwater formed in karst aquifers is generally high and in most cases only chlorination is required. However, from a hydrogeological perspective, these water resources are the least studied. Often only basic information is available on catchment size, groundwater reserves (dynamic and static, if any) and groundwater balance. Detailed hydrogeological investigations and long-term monitoring of karst spring discharges are needed to acquire such information. AR, CR and ARCR modeling for simulations and analyses of karst groundwater quality parameters
Although an invisible component of the hydrologic cycle, groundwater generally takes precedence over other water resources in the area of drinking water supply. Among groundwater resources, karst aquifers tend to be rich in sufficiently-accessible amounts of high-quality water. During most of the year, this water requires only disinfection prior to delivery to the end user. However, in many cases extreme rainfall and/or sudden snow melt results in transient turbidity, increase in bacterial count and temporary contamination (e.g. increase in ...autocorrelation, cross-correlation, autoregressive model, cross-regressive model, autocross regressive model, nitrates, Banja Spring, Serbia.Vesna Ristić-Vakanjac, Marina Ćokorilo-Ilić, Petar Papić, Dušan Polomčić, Radisav Golubović. Mafic alkaline metasomatism in the lithosphere underneath East Serbia: Evidence from the study of xenoliths and the host alkali basalts
Effects of mafic alkaline metasomatism have been investigated by a combined study of the East Serbian mantle xenoliths and their host alkaline rocks. Fertile xenoliths and tiny mineral assemblages found in depleted xenoliths have been investigated. Fertile lithologies are represented by clinopyroxene (cpx)-rich lherzolite and spinel (sp)-rich olivine websterite containing Ti–Al-rich Cr-augite, Fe-rich olivine, Fe–Al-rich orthopyroxene and Al-rich spinel. Zoran Gojković, Milan Kilibarda, Ljiljana Brajović, Miloš Marjanović, Aleksandar Milutinović, Aleksandar Ganić (2023)Open pit coal mining affects surrounding populated areas, resulting in terrain surface deformation. Surface deformation should be monitored as often as possible to control deformations and prevent potential incidents.
