Geoheritage and Mining Heritage in the Promotion of Theme Parks: An Example of the National Park Đerdap (Carpathian-Balkan Thrust-And-Fold Belt, Eastern Serbia)
The National Park Đerdap (eastern Serbia, vicinity of the Danube River) occupies a segment of the Carpathian-Balkan fold-and-thrust belt and has a significant geoheritage potential, accounting for the impressive natural (geological) and cultural legacy. In addition to the extraordinary orogenic-type landscape or nappe-stacked mountainous configura tion, the region contains evidence of ancient mining activities, uncovered within its immediate neighbourhood. The ancient mining activities date back a few thousand years ago and represent a solid ground for the idea of ...Karpatobalkanski pojas nabora i navlaka, Geopark Djerdap, Tematski park "Muzej rudarstva", Konzervacija, Održivi razvoj, Geotopi, SrbijaIvana Mojsić Velikić, Dragoman Rabrenović, Danica Srećković-Batoćanin, Darko Spahić. Geoloski profil planine Avale (severna Šumadija) - uvid u litostratigrafiju i tektonske strukture
Mezozojske formacije Šumadije dele tektonsko-stratigrafsku evoluciju južnijih delova suture jedinica Adrijskog i Evropskog afiniteta, uključujući gornjojursku obdukciju, krednu subdukciju i paleogenu kontinentalnu koliziju. Finalni rezultat dugovremene evolucije u geodinamički složenom ambijentu su komplikovani tektonski i litostratigrafski odnosi različitih mezozojskih formacija suture. Geološki profil kroz planinu Avalu omogućava uvid u skoro potpunu sukcesiju mezozojskih formacija i prostorne pozicije i kinematiku značajnih tektonskih struktura najsevernijih segmenata suture u Šumadiji. U tektonskom kontekstu, mezozojske formacije okoline Beograda najčešće su interpretirane kao deo Istočne ...Marinko Toljić, Bojan Glavaš-Trbić, Maja Maleš, Nikola Ranđelović. Fault type assessment based on vertical gravity gradient anomalies – advantages and limitations
The type of dip-slip faults can be assessed based on the analysis of vertical gravity gradients. Theoretically, just a simple comparation of the gradient extreme values can give us an answer whether the fault is normal or reverse (thrust). Practical application of this method is far more complicated and the results depend on a number of parameters, such as a complexity of geological setting, the quality of gravity data, dip angle and displacement of the fault, density contrast, etc. ...Ivana Vasiljević, Snežana Ignjatović, Branislav Sretković. Towards resolving Cretaceous to Miocene kinematics of the Adria-Europe contact zone in reconstructions: Inferences from a structural study in a critical Dinarides area
One key element in the current debate analysing the Central Mediterranean evolution is the Cretaceous structure and kinematics of the present-day oroclinal bent contact between Adria-and Europe-derived continental units in the Dinarides, interpreted in different tectonic reconstructions as a subduction-related thrust system or a large-scale strike-slip fault zone. We provide a solution to the debate by a structural and kinematic study in a key area located in central Serbia along the Europe–Adria orogenic suture of the Sava Zone. The ...Uroš Stojadinović, Nemanja Krstekanić, Liviu Matenco, Tamara Bogdanović. Late and post-collisional tectonic evolution of the Adria-Europe suture in the Vardar Zone
The Vardar Zone is a product of the Triassic-Jurassic opening of the Neotethys, Jurassic obduction, Late Cretaceous/Paleogene consumption of the oceanic crust and continental collision. During the last process, the Eastern Vardar Zone was thrust over the Central and eventually both onto the Western Vardar Zone. The present paleomagnetic and structural study provided new results from the first two zones in the Belgrade area. The younger set of data, together with published ones from the third zone, provide firm ...Emő Márton, Marinko Toljić, Vesna Cvetkov. To what extent reactivated faults are (not) responsible for karst process: example from Serbian Carpatho-Balkanides?
Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić (2023)Carpatho-Balkanides represent part of the complex Dinaric – Carpatho – Balkan orogenic system, that geomorphologically dominates the central part of the Balkan Peninsula. The existence of this orogenic system is a result of closure of the Neotethys ocean and subsequent convergence of the Adriatic microplate and the Eurasian continent, that has been still active in the recent times. Such geodynamic characteristics conditioned complex tectonic structures, multiply reactivated during Late Cretaceous and Cenozoic times. The main aim of this work ...Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić. Determining seismic hazard in slowly deforming region: Can we gather enough information from karst caves?
Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić (2021)Methods to determine seismic hazard in any region vary depending on the regional seismicity, but can be roughly grouped into two main groups: one based on probabilistic methods that use data about known seismicity in the region, and another, which is based on data related to the faulting processes and determination of seismically active faults. Both groups of methods are relatively good for seismically active regions. However, in regions of low seismic activity and slow deformations, there is neither ...Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić.
