INVENTS: A Hybrid Mine Ventilation Planning and Design System
Ventilation system analysis is a complex process based on the calculation and analysis of numerous parameters. These problems can be successfully solved by the SimVent numerical package, but a full understanding and use of the obtained results require the involvement of an experienced specialist in the ventilation field. The solution was found in the creation of a hybrid system INVENTS, whose knowledge base represents a formalization of the expert knowledge in the mine ventilation field. In this paper we ...... aerodynamic definition of mine ventilation networks - ResNet, a package for ventilation simulation in complex mine ventilation networks - SimVent and a diagnostic expert system for ventilation system analysis - VENTEX. Ventex: an expert system for mine ventilation systems analysis
roblems relating to mine ventilation systems analysis are usually of a very complex nature. They involve the estimation of numerous interdependent parameters pertaining to the network status, ventilation status, ventilation system stability, air current losses, climate conditions, gas state, fire risk and dangerous dust pollution risk. The solution to these problems relies, to a great extent, on numerical methods. With the development of computer technology these methods were incorporated as numerical routes in software packages, such as the mine ...Nikola Lilić, Ranka Stanković, Ivan Obradović. VENTEX: An Expert System for Mine Ventilation Systems Analysis
Mine ventilation system planning using genetic algorithms
The most common problem in contemporary mining practice related to the planning and analysis of ventilation systems is the optimization of partially regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. This paper presents a two step optimization procedure for partly regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. The first step is the determination of air distribution in all branches using the well known Hardy-Cross method. In the second step the distribution and parameters of air flow regulators with minimum engaged ...coal, lignite, and peat; ventilation systems; coal mining; underground mining; ventilation; mathematical models; design; air flow; optimization; calculation methodsNikola Lilić, Ranka Stanković, Ivan Obradović. Coupling of artificial intelligence methods in the development of hybrid intelligent systems
In this paper we present an approach which couples various artificial intelligence (AI) methods in the solution of complex problems that cannot adequately be solved by a single AI method. We argue that the resulting, hybrid intelligent systems (HIS) can be successfully implemented with the use of available AI software libraries. Different coupling methods are analyzed and a classification of hybrid systems based on the chosen method is given. The optimization of auxiliary machinery in open-cast lignite mines: a case study of bulldozers
One of the most important prerequisites for the successful operation of the open-cast lignite mine is to carry out all the auxiliary works timely with the necessary quality. The most important and most commonly used auxiliary machines are bulldozers. Hydrochemical indicators of groundwater flow in the area of “Čukaru Peki” Cu-Au underground mine in eastern Serbia
The physical and chemical properties of groundwater, together with the groundwater levels regime and rock hydraulic properties, are often used to understand and conceptualize the hydrogeological system. Prediction of the influence of mining works on groundwater, and vice versa, is a challenge due to significantly altered groundwater flow patterns in the raw materials exploitation areas in relation to natural conditions. Therefore, multiple parameters are assessed and monitored before and during exploitation to properly characterize and quantify the system for ...Nebojša Atanacković, Vladimir Živanović, Jana Štrbački, Veselin Dragišić, Ivana Cvejić.
