Available technological procedures for capturing CO2 in the industrial and power generation sectors
Climate change is a major environmental issue caused by anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. Capturing CO2 and storing it in suitable geological formations is one of the main technological solutions that can provide mitigation of CO2 emission into the atmosphere. Capturing CO2 represents the first phase in process of carbon capture and storage, and includes the application of various technologies for the separation of CO2 produced in the energy and industrial sectors. There are four main systems for capturing ...... Selexol (dimethylether of polyethylene glycol), Resticol process (methanol), Fluor process (propylene carbonate), Purisol (N-methyl pyrrolidone) and Morphysorb process (morpholine) [20-22]. Application of MCDA in the determination of optimal block size for open-pit modelling and mine planning
The process of creating a geological block model as the basis for a further detailed design and planning of mining operations is a very responsible task. Errors made during this initial process are transferred to all other phases of the mining project. Certainly, one of the most important decisions for the modelling process is the choice of the appropriate size of the blocks that form the model itself. The determination of the optimal block size is not a simple ...dimenzije minibloka, višekriterijumska analiza, AHP, modeliranje ležišta, planiranje na površinskim kopovimaPetar Marković, Dejan Stevanović, Milica Pešić Georgiadis, Mirjana Banković. Development of the hybrid MCDM model for evaluating and selecting bucket wheel excavators for the modernization process
This paper presents a methodology for evaluating and ranking different bucket wheel excavators (BWE) for determining which machine should enter in the process of revitalization and modernization. Various multicriteria methods are used. Combining them achieves the best effect when choosing BVE for the modernization process. AHP, TOPSIS, VIKOR, and PROMETHEE methods are used. The hybrid models are developed from the multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods and they are used to evaluate the basic indicators that characterize the operation of ...Snezana Savkovic, Predrag Jovancic, Stevan Djenadic, Milos Tanasijevic, Filip Miletic. Steel Arch Support Deformations Forecast Model Based on Grey–Stochastic Simulation and Autoregressive Process
Relatively large deformations of the steel arch support in underground coal mines in the Republic of Serbia present one of the main problems for achieving the planned production of coal. Monitoring of the critical sections of the steel arch support in the underground roadways is necessary to gather quality data for the development of a forecasting model. With a new generation of 3D laser scanners that can be used in potentially explosive environments (ATEX), deformation monitoring is facilitated, while ...čelična podgrada, prognoza deformacija, vremenske serije, grey-stohastička simulacija, autoregresija, podzemni rudnik ugljaLuka Crnogorac, Suzana Lutovac, Rade Tokalić, Miloš Gligorić, Zoran Gligorić. Analysis Of the Process Of Carbon Capture Utilization And Storage In Underground Reservoirs
John Nyame (2024)The importance of mitigating the effects of global climate change has necessitated an in-depth exploration of innovative strategies to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Among these strategies, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) has emerged as a promising and transformative solution. This master thesis delves into the diverse realm of CCUS processes, aiming to unravel the positives challenges, and opportunities within this dynamic field. The analysis begins with a systematic examination of carbon capture technologies, encompassing post-combustion, pre-combustion, and oxy-fuel combustion ...... gas fields in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea [97]. The process selected for capturing the CO> was the use of the absorption process. Testing the energy value of different types of coal by the method of active thermography
In this paper, coal thermograms are presented and analyzed in order to determine their energy value. Two types of coal of different categories, brown and lignite, were selected for active thermographic imaging. The tested coal samples were processed before measurement so that they are similar in dimensions and have two plane-parallel smooth surfaces. The test samples were "primarily" heated under the same conditions and the process of their cooling was monitored by a thermal camera. "Then" they were cooled ...Stevan Đenadić, Ljubiša Tomić, Vesna Damnjanović, Predrag Jovančić, Dragutin Jovković. Novel Methods in Multiple Criteria Decision-Making Process (MCRAT and RAPS)—Application in the Mining Industry
Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) is a supporting tool which is widely spread in different areas of science and industry. Many researchers have confirmed that MCDM methods can be useful for selecting the best solution in many different problems. In this paper, two novel methods are presented and applied on existing decision-making processes in the mining industry. The first method is multiple criteria ranking by alternative trace (MCRAT) and the second is ranking alternatives by perimeter similarity (RAPS). To what extent reactivated faults are (not) responsible for karst process: example from Serbian Carpatho-Balkanides?
Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić (2023)Carpatho-Balkanides represent part of the complex Dinaric – Carpatho – Balkan orogenic system, that geomorphologically dominates the central part of the Balkan Peninsula. The existence of this orogenic system is a result of closure of the Neotethys ocean and subsequent convergence of the Adriatic microplate and the Eurasian continent, that has been still active in the recent times.
