Multiphase evolution of fluids in the Rudnik hydrothermal-skarn deposit (Serbia): new constraints from study of quartz-hosted fluid inclusions
This study presents and discusses first detailed petrographic, microthermometric and Raman spectroscopic data from quartzhosted fluid inclusions at Rudnik Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag skarn deposit (Serbia) and combines them with the information on skarnand ore paragenesis. Three periods in the metamorphic-hydrothermal history of the deposit are recognized: 1) the pre-ore prograde skarn period when garnet-clinopyroxene skarns formed, 2) the syn-ore period that encompasses a retrograde stage marked by epidote and zoisite and a quartz-sulfide stage characterized by quartz, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, galena and ...skarnovska ležišta, rudnik, fludine inkluzije, srpska kenozojska magmatska provincija, Zapadno Tetisjki metalogenetski pojasStefan Petrović, Ronald J. Paleovegetation and environment during deposition of the Late Oligocene sub-bituminous coal in the Bobov Dol Basin (SW Bulgaria) as deduced from petrographic and geochemical characteristics
Alexander Zdravkov, Achim Bechtel, Doris Groβ, Ivan Kojić, Ksenija Stojanović, Dragana Životić (2024)Coal and carbonaceous shale samples were taken from the Late Oligocene Bobov Dol Basin, SW Bulgaria. Seams Ia, I, IIa+b, III, IV and V from the coal-bearing Bobov Dol Fm. were sampled to provide insights into the peat forming vegetation and depositional environment based on detailed organic petrological and geochemical study. The petrographic composition indicates that both coals and carbonaceous shales contain predominantly terrestrial organic matter with abundant huminite macerals and locally enriched liptinite macerals. Inertinite is rare or ...Alexander Zdravkov, Achim Bechtel, Doris Groβ, Ivan Kojić, Ksenija Stojanović, Dragana Životić. Projected changes in air temperature, precipitation and aridity in Serbia in the 21st century
Boško Milovanović, Sebastian Schubert, Milan Radovanović, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Christoph Schneider (2021)In this study, the projected changes of the average monthly and annual air temperatures, precipitation amounts and De Martonne aridity index in Serbia in the 21st century are examined. For that purpose, the spatial distribution of air temperature and precipitation amount is statistically modelled using data of 64 climatologic stations and 421 precipitation stations for the period 1976–2005 using multiple linear regression. The De Martonne aridity index is calculated from the spatially distributed data. In order to obtain regional ...Boško Milovanović, Sebastian Schubert, Milan Radovanović, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Christoph Schneider. BERT Downstream Task Analysis: Named Entity Recognition in Serbian
This paper compares different architectures and techniques for preparing named entity recognition (NER) models for the Serbian language via integrating BERT with spaCy. Models were trained to recognize seven different named entity types (persons, locations, organisations, professions, events, demonyms, and artworks), and are trained on the dataset containing Serbian novels published between 1840 and 1920, publicly available newspaper articles and sentences generated from the Wikidata knowledge base and Leximirka lexical database. We explore various configurations and several training pipelines ...Milica Ikonić Nešić, Saša Petalinkar, Mihailo Škorić, Ranka Stanković. An update on the mineral-like Sr-containing transition metal arsenates
Tamara Đorđević, Ljiljana Karanović (2021)We report on the crystal structures of three novel synthetic SrM-arsenates (M = Ni and Fe3+), isostructural or structurally related to the minerals from tsumcorite, carminite and brackebuschite groups. They were synthesised under mild hydrothermal conditions and further characterised using single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD), scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEMEDS) and Raman spectroscopy. SXRD and SEM-EDS yielded formulae: (I) SrNi2(AsO4)2·2H2O, (II) Sr1.4Fe3+ 1.6(AsO4)2(OH)1.6 and (III) SrFe3+(AsO4)(AsO3OH). All three structures are built up of slightly distorted MO6 octahedra ... Connections between the Levant and the Balkans in the late Middle Pleistocene: Archaeological findings from Velika and Mala Balanica Caves (Serbia)
Dušan Mihailović, Steven L. Kuhn, Katarina Bogićević, Vesna Dimitrijević, Ana B. Marín-Arroyo, Jelena Marković, Norbert Mercier, Bojana Mihailović, Mike W. Morley, Predrag Radović, William J. Rink, Senka Plavšić, Mirjana Roksandić (2022)Major changes in the technological, economic, and social behavior of Middle Pleistocene hominins occurred at the onset of the Middle Paleolithic, 400e200 ka. However, until recently it was not possible to establish when, where, and how certain forms of Middle Paleolithic behavior appeared and spread into Southeastern Europe, mainly owing to gaps in the Paleolithic record. Here we report new results of dating, material culture, and the archaeological context of finds from the Balanica Cave Complex in Sicevo (Serbia). ...Dušan Mihailović, Steven L. Our study investi gated the interaction between antipsychotic drugs clozapine, ziprasidone, sertindole, and human hemoglobin under simulated physiological conditions. Analysis of protein fluorescence quenching at different temperatures and data obtained from the van’t Hoff diagram and molecular docking indicate that the interactions are static and that the tetrameric human hemoglobin has one binding site for ...Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, Computer Science Applications, Spectroscopy, Molecular Biology, General Medicine, CatalysisLena Platanić Arizanović, Nikola Gligorijević, Ilija Cvijetić, Aleksandar Mijatović, Maja Krstić Ristivojević, Simeon Minić, Aleksandra Nikolić Kokić, Čedo Miljević, Milan Nikolić. Link between active tectonics/faulting and mineral and thermal water occurrence in Republic of North Macedonia
Hristina Petrova, Uroš Stojadinović, Boris Vakanjac, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Katarzyna Wątor, Piotr Rusiniak, Ewa Kmiecik (2024)According to the tectonic architecture of the Balkan Peninsula, the territory of Macedonia belongs to the Dinarides, Rhodope and Carpatho-Balkanides. In a relatively small area, Macedonia has a very complex geological and tectonic structure, which was shaped by intense and long-term processes, followed by magmatism of a wide spectrum, from the ultrabasic to the acidic. From a stratigraphic point of view, geological formations consist of the oldest Precambrian high-grade metamorphic rocks to the youngest Quaternary deposits, and such a ...Hristina Petrova, Uroš Stojadinović, Boris Vakanjac, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Katarzyna Wątor, Piotr Rusiniak, Ewa Kmiecik.
