Hydrochemistry of groundwater contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons: the impact of biodegradation (Vitanovac, Serbia)
Nenad Marić, Jana Štrbački, Sanja Mrazovac Kurilić, Vladimir P. Beškoski, Zoran Nikić, Snežana Ignjatović, Jovana Malbašić (2020)Aquifer contamination by petroleum hydrocarbons leads to measurable changes of groundwater hydrochemistry, primarily due to the microbiological activity. This study analyzes this phenomenon at an historical kerosene-contaminated site in Vitanovac (central Serbia). Due to the long-term hydrocarbon contamination and exposure to aerobic and anaerobic biodegradation mechanisms, the lowest concentrations of O2, NO3−, and SO42− (electron acceptors) and the highest concentrations of Mn and Fe (products of microbial metabolic activity) overlap. The terminal redox-accepting processes in groundwater ranged from oxygen ...Nenad Marić, Jana Štrbački, Sanja Mrazovac Kurilić, Vladimir P. Beškoski, Zoran Nikić, Snežana Ignjatović, Jovana Malbašić. Hristina Petrova, Katarzyna Wątor, Piotr Rusiniak, Boris Vakanjac, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Ewa Kmiecik (2023)Regarding the aspect of mineral, thermo-mineral, and thermal waters, on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia, there are 65 registered locations, of which 8 are categorized as spas. This includes the Kežovica spa, also known as the Štipska spa. In the vicinity of Kežovica Spa is the thermo-mineral L’Dži spring with mineralization around 1.3 g/L and the water temperature at the time of sampling was 50.1 °C. Spring L’Dži is generated by a fault structure and is ...Hristina Petrova, Katarzyna Wątor, Piotr Rusiniak, Boris Vakanjac, Vesna Ristić Vakanjac, Ewa Kmiecik. Sepiolite – a by-product of exploitation as a potential raw material in Serbian industry
This paper gives a brief overview of the sepiolite deposits, the basic properties, and the possibilities of using this mineral. Particular attention is paid to sepiolites from domestic production, especially the use of sepiolites suitable for the development of small businesses and technologies, with a focus on environmental protection. Aim of this paper is to point out importance of this mineral and to draw attention to the use of domestic raw materials. With appropriate mechanical and chemical pretreatments, sepiolite is ...Radmila Gaćina, Katarina Urošević, Jelena Zakonović.
Primena digitalne fotogrametrije u rudniku Rudnik
Digitalna fotogrametrija, lasersko skeniranje i virtuelizacija sve više pronalaze aktivne uloge u rudarstvu, prvenstveno zbog svoje široke mogućnosti primene.
