Using gravity data to define structural correlation affecting the formation of Neogene basins
A gravity survey can help to define the structural correlation in the study area. The structures that have influenced the development of Neogene basins can be defined using gravity data. By applying mathematical transformations to gravity data, the geological structures (faults, nappes, etc.) that impacted the formation of Neogene basins can be defined. We have taken the part of the Dinarides as the test region. The paper presents the results obtained using the procedure residual, vertical gradient, and total ...Snežana Ignjatović, Ivana Vasiljević, Branisav Sretković, Milanka Negovanović. Malathion-induced inhibition of human plasma cholinesterase studied by the fluorescence spectroscopy method
The in vitro effect of technical grade malathion was assessed via the kinetic parameters of human plasma butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) using N-methylindoxyl acetate as a substrate for BChE. An inhibitor kinetics study demonstrated the existence of a biphasic inhibition curve, indicating high- and low-affinity binding sites of malathion. The IC50 values as calculated from the experimental inhibition curves were 1.33 × 10–9 and 1.48 × 10–5 M for the high- and low-affinity binding sites, respectively; Hill’s analysis gave 1.29 × ...V. DFT study of free radical scavenging activity of erodiol
Zoran Marković, Jelena Đorović, Milan Dekić, Milanka Radulović, Svetlana Marković, Marija Ilić (2013)Antioxidant activity of erodiol was examined at the M05-2X/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory in the gas and aqueous phases. The structure and energy of radicals and anions of the most stable erodiol rotamer were analyzed. To estimate antioxidant potential of erodiol, different molecular properties were examined: bond dissociation enthalpy, proton affinity together with electron transfer energy, and ionization potential followed by proton dissociation enthalpy. It was found that hydrogen atom transfer is the prevailing mechanism of erodiol behavior in gas; ...Zoran Marković, Jelena Đorović, Milan Dekić, Milanka Radulović, Svetlana Marković, Marija Ilić. Correlation Between Dynamic CBR and Compaction and Bearing Capacity of Pavement Foundation Layers
This paper presents a dynamic California Bearing Ratio (CBRd) device that can be used on a prepared pavement foundation layer to obtain a certain parameter of the tested material in the laboratory and in situ in a direct and fast way. For the selected natural material (gravel), it is shown that the laboratory CBRd can be used to estimate the compaction and bearing capacity, because it correlates well with the parameters of the standard and modifed Proctor compaction tests. ...korelacija parametara, donji slojevi saobraćajnica, laboratorijska i terenska ispitivanja, dinamički kalifornijski indeks nosivosti CBRdMilan Bogdanović, Snežana Bogdanović, Dragoslav Rakić, Irena Basarić Ikodinović. Fault type assessment based on vertical gravity gradient anomalies – advantages and limitations
The type of dip-slip faults can be assessed based on the analysis of vertical gravity gradients. Theoretically, just a simple comparation of the gradient extreme values can give us an answer whether the fault is normal or reverse (thrust). Practical application of this method is far more complicated and the results depend on a number of parameters, such as a complexity of geological setting, the quality of gravity data, dip angle and displacement of the fault, density contrast, etc. ...Ivana Vasiljević, Snežana Ignjatović, Branislav Sretković. Detecting the boundaries of gravity anomaly sources using the vertical and tilt derivative
In geophysical exploration, it is important to define the boundaries of anomaly sources that are not visible on the surface. Information about the boundaries of sources can help during geophysical geological modeling of the survey area. A model of the survey area can help in better defining the geological structure and geological development of an exploration area. This paper presents how the procedures of vertical and tilt derivative on gravity data can help to detect the ...Snežana Ignjatović, Ivana Vasiljević, Branislav Sretković. The alternative to Mahler measure of polynomials in several variables
Dragan Stankov (2024)We introduce the ratio of the number of roots of a polynomial Pd, greater than one in modulus, to its degree d as an alternative to Mahler measure. We investigate some properties of the alternative. We generalise this definition for a polynomial in several variables using Cauchy’s argument principle. If a polynomial in two variables do not vanish on the torus we prove the theorem for the alternative which is analogous to the Boyd-Lawton limit formula for Mahler measure. ...Dragan Stankov. Palynology and petrology of Upper Miocene lignite from the coastal zone of field “A”, the Kovin deposit (Serbia)
The paper presents the results of palynological research of lignite and sedimentary rocks, as well as petrology of lignite from the “A” field of the Kovin deposit, Serbia. The palynological data suggest changes in the vegetation during the deposition of organic matter with several well-developed zones in Late Miocene palaeomire. Palynofacies analysis indicate changes in palaeoenvironment from fluvio-deltaic with accumulation of siliciclastic, transition from distal dysoxic-anoxic, suboxic-anoxic to proximal suboxic-anoxic and reducing environment. Research on influence of track stiffness on development of rail squat defects
This paper presents research aiming to establish the relationship between track stiffness and the appearance and development of squat defects on running rails. Uneven incidence of squat defects was observed on the rails of the investigated main transit track in arailway station. Inspection of track support conditions was conducted using an electrometric method. The comparative analysis of the research results indicated a correlation between the incidence of squats and the changes in track support stiffness. A Description of Morphological Features of Serbian: a Revision using Feature System Declaration
In this paper we discuss some well-known morphological descriptions used in various projects and applications (most notably MULTEXT-East and Unitex) and illustrate the encountered problems on Serbian. We have spotted four groups of problems: the lack of a value for an existing category, the lack of a category, the interdependence of values and categories lacking some description, and the lack of a support for some types of categories. At the same time, various descriptions often describe exactly the same ...Cvetana Krstev, Ranka Stanković, Vitas Duško. Properties of fly ash and slag from the power plants
This paper describes the physical, chemical and mineral properties of ash and slag, which were taken from thermal power plants Nikola Tesla A, Nikola Tesla B, Kostolac A and Kostolac B. The knowledge of the mineralogical material composition is important because the type of minerals directly determines the properties of the fly ash and slag and their possible application. Laboratory tests showed that ash and slag samples consist of the following minerals: amorphous materials, quartz, feldspar, mullite, melilite, cristobalite, ...fly ash, slag, physical composition, chemical composition, mineral composition, X-ray diffraction methodMiloš Šešlija, Aleksandra Rosić, Nebojša Radović, Milinko Vasić, Mitar Đogo, Milovan Jotić.
