Geotechnical effects of municipal solid waste destruction with different compaction methods
Jovana M Janković Pantić, Dragoslav R Rakić, Irena G Basarić Ikodinović, Tina D Đurić, Gordana Hadži-Niković (2022)Disposal of waste in municipal solid waste landfills is the only way of waste disposal in Serbia, with daily compaction and covering with soil material. Due to less space for the construction of new landfills, it is necessary to use their maximum capacity. Well-compacted municipal solid waste takes up less volume and enables safer storage, so it is useful to previously determine the compaction parameters in the laboratory: maximum dry unit weight (γdmax) and optimal water content (wopt). Fuzzy expert analysis of the severity of mining machinery failure
Mining machinery failure is almost an everyday occurrence. Usually the failures bare certain consequences, which require additional financial costs to repair and restore the system to its operational state. The consequences are viewed through negative and damaging effects a failure has on the machine, health and safety of the employees, work environment, and on the environment. The removal of the consequences of the failure requires additional financial investment, which has a negative impact on the company’s business. In order ...Dejan V. Quantitative landslide risk assessment in the city of Tuzla
In the climate-changing conditions, geological environment interacts more dramatically with the urban fabric than before. The urbanization is expansive and more aggressive than before, but so are the weather extremes and long-term climate trends. In effect, many processes which can be triggered by either side, nature or engineering, are becoming more pervasive than before, and such is the case with landslides. Dealing and managing landslides requires few crucial steps, starting from collecting data on landslide location and typology – ...... Auflič, M., Andres, N., Poyiadji, E., Lamas, P. Late and post-collisional tectonic evolution of the Adria-Europe suture in the Vardar Zone
The Vardar Zone is a product of the Triassic-Jurassic opening of the Neotethys, Jurassic obduction, Late Cretaceous/Paleogene consumption of the oceanic crust and continental collision. During the last process, the Eastern Vardar Zone was thrust over the Central and eventually both onto the Western Vardar Zone. The present paleomagnetic and structural study provided new results from the first two zones in the Belgrade area. The younger set of data, together with published ones from the third zone, provide firm ...Emő Márton, Marinko Toljić, Vesna Cvetkov. Synthesis, magnetic, thermal and structural properties of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes containing isophthalato ligands
A series of novel ternary Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes containing 2,20-dipyridylamine (dipya), 2,20-bipyridine (bipy), and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), as aromatic diamine ligands, and dianion of isophthalic acid (ipht) have been prepared by ligand exchange reactions from diluted H2O/EtOH solutions. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility measurements and TG and DSC analysis. Three complexes, Cu(dipya)(ipht)H2O (1), Co(dipya)(ipht)2H2O (2) and Cu(ipht)(phen)2H2O (5) are polymeric with bis-monodentate ipht, while the other two complexes M(bipy)(ipht)4H2O, M@Co(II) (3) and ...
Anisotropic grossular–andradite garnets: Evidence of two stage skarn evolution from Rudnik, Central Serbia
This paper presents LA-ICP-MS data for garnets from the Rudnik skarn deposit (Serbia), which range from Grs45–58Adr40–52Alm2–3 in the core and Adr70–97Grs2–29Sps1 in the rim displaying anisotropy and zoning. In spite of wide compositional variations the garnets near the end-member of andradite (Adr > 90) are generally isotropic. Fe-rich rims exhibit LREE depletion and flat HREE pattern with weak negative Eu anomaly, including higher As and W contents. On the other side, the Fe-poorer core shows flat REE pattern ...... Regional rockfall exposure assessment, experience from Serbia
Rockfalls are common in hilly and mountainous areas, especially along roads with engineered slopes and cuts. Such is the case for most of the state and local road routes in Central, Serbia, which was the subject in this case study.
