Prognozna ocena resursa kaolinitskih glina u sedimentnim basenima Srbije
The use of solid fuels (wood biomass and coal) for heating of households continues to be common practice within European countries. Solid fuel combustion in households contributes more than 46% to total emissions of fine particulate matter. In this study, a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of firewood-based and pellet-based heating systems is performed. These two systems represent two different types of individual wood biomass heating systems. In the case of the firewood-based heating systems, it is analyzed a typical stove ...... Figure 1. Improving Document Retrieval in Large Domain Specific Textual Databases Using Lexical Resources
Large collections of textual documents represent an example of big data that requires the solution of three basic problems: the representation of documents, the representation of information needs and the matching of the two representations. Documents within a large textual database developed for geological projects in the Republic of Serbia for many years were indexed using methods developed within digital humanities: bag-of-words and named ...... was primarily to establish an object- oriented database for digital archiving of geologic data in the field of general geology, exploration of mineral deposits, hydrogeology and engineering geology, as a modern and efficient information basis for planning, design and decision- making in the geological ...

Determination of Mechanical Properties of Altered Dacite by Laboratory Methods
This paper presents a methodology for determining the uniaxial and triaxial compressive strength of heterogeneous material composed of dacite (D) and altered dacite (AD). A zone of gradual transition from altered dacite to dacite was observed in the rock mass. The mechanical properties of the rock material in that zone were determined by laboratory tests of composite samples that consisted of rock material discs. However, the functional dependence on the strength parameter alteration of the rock material (UCS, intact ...... vladimir.cebasek@rgf.bg.ac.rs (V.Č.); vladimir.milisavljevic@rgf.bg.ac.rs (V.M.); dejan.stevanovic@rgf.bg.ac.rs (D.S.) 2 Department of Ecological Engineering for Soil and Water Resources Protection, Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia; nikola.zivanovic@sfb.bg.ac.rs * C ...

Asbestos-Based Pottery from Corsica: The First Fiber-Reinforced Ceramic Matrix Composite
Asbestos-containing pottery shards collected in the northeast of Corsica (Cap Corse) and dating from the 19th century, or earlier, have been analyzed by SEM-EDS, XRPD, FTIR and Raman microspectroscopy. Blue (crocidolite) and white (chrysotile) asbestos fiber bundles are observed in cross-sections. Most of the asbestos is partly or totally dehydroxylated, and some transformation to forsterite is observed to occur, indicative of a firing above 800 C. Examination of freshly fractured pieces shows a nonbrittle fracture with fiber pull-out, consistent with ...... ion. This highlights the potential of Raman microscopy, a noninvasive and mobile technique, in identifying, residues testifying to nondomestic, chemical and metallurgical uses in the case of these ceramics.
