Machine learning based landslide assessment of the Belgrade metropolitan area: Pixel resolution effects and a cross-scaling concept
Improvements of Machine Learning-based landslide prediction models can be made by optimizing scale, customizing training samples to provide sets with the best examples, feature selection, etc. Herein, a novel approach, named Cross-Scaling, is proposed that includes the mixing of training and testing set resolutions. Hypothetically, training on a coarser resolution dataset and testing the model on a finer resolution should help the algorithm to better generalize ambiguous examples of landslide classes and yield fewer over/underestimations in the model. Fault type assessment based on vertical gravity gradient anomalies – advantages and limitations
The type of dip-slip faults can be assessed based on the analysis of vertical gravity gradients. Theoretically, just a simple comparation of the gradient extreme values can give us an answer whether the fault is normal or reverse (thrust). Practical application of this method is far more complicated and the results depend on a number of parameters, such as a complexity of geological setting, the quality of gravity data, dip angle and displacement of the fault, density contrast, etc. ...... on the 88 fault type, approximate position of the fault line and general estimation of the dip angle (direction and whether the fault plane slopes steeply or gently). The analysis works well if the gravity anomaly is produced by a single fault, but in the practice, it is rarely the case. ...

Non-Detonating Chemical Mixture for Non-Invasive Methods of Rock Breaking
Within the Innovation developed several different non-detonating chemical mixtures for non-invasive methods of rock breaking. Laboratory and polygon tests gave the satisfactory results and knowledge enough to start the practical experiments in the field. The basis of this innovation is a theoretical assumption that certain chemical mixtures release a large quantity of gases during combustion. If these gases are found in the enclosed space a growing pressure on the walls of the chamber in which combustion takes place will ...Lazar Kričak, Milanka Negovanović, Nikola Simić, Stefan Milanović. Stratigraphic implications of the Mio-Pliocene geodynamics in the area of Mt. Avala: new evidence from Torlak Hill and Beli Potok (Belgrade, Serbia)
Mt. Avala is located on the southern margin of the Pannonian basin (SPB), a border zone between the uplifted morphostructures of the Dinarides and Carpathian-Balkanides. Similar to the Pannonian basin, tectonostratigraphic evolution of the Mt. Avala area during the last 23 Ma has is characterized by syn- and post-rifting processes as well as tectonic inversion. Here, we present the results of field investigations of the Miocene‒Pliocene dynamics that led to different spatial positions of the same stratigraphic units (e.g. ...... faults (ZU). The presence of the late Miocene sediments on the moun- tain slopes suggests that this structural unit was uplifted during Sarmatian times. This is based on the fact that the youngest sedi- ments on the slopes of Mt. Avala are “Pontian” clastics which directly overlie the Mesozoic rocks ...

Determination of Mechanical Properties of Altered Dacite by Laboratory Methods
This paper presents a methodology for determining the uniaxial and triaxial compressive strength of heterogeneous material composed of dacite (D) and altered dacite (AD). A zone of gradual transition from altered dacite to dacite was observed in the rock mass. The mechanical properties of the rock material in that zone were determined by laboratory tests of composite samples that consisted of rock material discs. However, the functional dependence on the strength parameter alteration of the rock material (UCS, intact ...... mass. In their study, Berisavljević et al. Testing the energy value of different types of coal by the method of active thermography
In this paper, coal thermograms are presented and analyzed in order to determine their energy value. Two types of coal of different categories, brown and lignite, were selected for active thermographic imaging. The test samples were "primarily" heated under the same conditions and the process of their cooling was monitored by a thermal camera.
