BERT Downstream Task Analysis: Named Entity Recognition in Serbian
This paper compares different architectures and techniques for preparing named entity recognition (NER) models for the Serbian language via integrating BERT with spaCy. Models were trained to recognize seven different named entity types (persons, locations, organisations, professions, events, demonyms, and artworks), and are trained on the dataset containing Serbian novels published between 1840 and 1920, publicly available newspaper articles and sentences generated from the Wikidata knowledge base and Leximirka lexical database. We explore various configurations and several training pipelines ...... predictions, a custom metric named m-measure was calculated using the Eq. 1, and 3) the size of each pipeline was determined post-training, quantifying this in megabytes (MB). 10 Mlmeasuere = F * wps () The m-measure was introduced out of necessity to gain proper measure adjustment that was needed ...

Development of the Availability Concept by Using Fuzzy Theory with AHP Correction, a Case Study: Bulldozers in the Open-Pit Lignite Mine
Stevan Đenadić, Dragan Ignjatović, Miloš Tanasijević, Uglješa Bugarić, Ivan Janković, Tomislav Šubaranović (2019)Availability is one of the most used terms in maintainability engineering. This concept is used to denote: The quality of service of an engineering system, i.e., machines, weak points’ analysis, asset management, as well as making decisions in the process of life cycle management. Availability is an overall indicator and contains partial indicators that are oriented towards reliability, maintenance, and logistical support. Availability presents a variable value and changes in time and space. Usually, availability is shown as the ...Stevan Đenadić, Dragan Ignjatović, Miloš Tanasijević, Uglješa Bugarić, Ivan Janković, Tomislav Šubaranović. Availability as a dimension of energy security in the Republic of Serbia
Boban Pavlović, Dejan Ivezić (2016)There is a range of modern approaches and models in literature for the evaluation and determination of energy security, which are based on different parameters and indicators. For most of them, a common characteristic is emphasizing the avail ability of energy, as an important dimension for ensuring energy security. In this paper, concise overview of Serbian energy sectors is given and appropriate energy indicators are defined and determined. Semantic Textual Similarity of Courses Based on Text Embeddings
This paper explores the application of textual embeddings to measure semantic similarity between educational courses’ curriculums, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of the next faculty accreditation. Leveraging state-of-the-art natural language processing techniques, we employ pre-trained embeddings to capture the semantic meaning of course descriptions. Our methodology involves transforming course curriculum texts into high-dimensional vector representations, enabling efficient and meaningful comparisons. We evaluate the proposed approach on a diverse dataset of course descriptions, employing established benchmarks for semantic textual similarity ...... Mine ventilation system planning using genetic algorithms
The most common problem in contemporary mining practice related to the planning and analysis of ventilation systems is the optimization of partially regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. This paper presents a two step optimization procedure for partly regulated air distribution in mine ventilation networks. The first step is the determination of air distribution in all branches using the well known Hardy-Cross method. In the second step the distribution and parameters of air flow regulators with minimum engaged ...coal, lignite, and peat; ventilation systems; coal mining; underground mining; ventilation; mathematical models; design; air flow; optimization; calculation methods...
