Palynology and petrology of Upper Miocene lignite from the coastal zone of field “A”, the Kovin deposit (Serbia)
The paper presents the results of palynological research of lignite and sedimentary rocks, as well as petrology of lignite from the “A” field of the Kovin deposit, Serbia. The palynological data suggest changes in the vegetation during the deposition of organic matter with several well-developed zones in Late Miocene palaeomire. Palynofacies analysis indicate changes in palaeoenvironment from fluvio-deltaic with accumulation of siliciclastic, transition from distal dysoxic-anoxic, suboxic-anoxic to proximal suboxic-anoxic and reducing environment. The palynomorphs indicate wet humid swamp ...Jelena Milivojević, Zorica Lazarević, Dragana Životić. The state and perspective of the natural gas sector in Serbia
The strategy of long-term energy development of Serbia identifies an increase of share of natural gas in final energy consumption as one of the main aims. Serbia has signed a strategic agreement with the Russian Federation on cooperation in the oil and gas sector, within which the project South Stream pipeline is planned to be realized. In addition, the Republic of Serbia has signed the Treaty that establishes the Energy Community and accepted the obligation to implement the Energy ...Dejan Ivezić, Marija Živković, Dušan Danilović, Aleksandar Madžarević, Miloš Tanasijević. Available technological procedures for capturing CO2 in the industrial and power generation sectors
Climate change is a major environmental issue caused by anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. Capturing CO2 and storing it in suitable geological formations is one of the main technological solutions that can provide mitigation of CO2 emission into the atmosphere. Capturing CO2 represents the first phase in process of carbon capture and storage, and includes the application of various technologies for the separation of CO2 produced in the energy and industrial sectors. There are four main systems for capturing ...Lola Tomić, Vesna Karović Maričić, Dušan Danilović, Branko Leković, Miroslav Crnogorac. Application of the PROMETHEE and VIKOR methods for selecting the most suitable carbon dioxide geological storage option
CO2 storage in geological formations is one of the leading solutions for mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. Types of geological formations that can be used for CO2 storage, that are discussed in this paper are: depleted oil and gas reservoirs, saline aquifers and injection CO2 in partially depleted oil reservoirs for enhanced oil recovery (EOR–CO2 method). In order to select the most suitable geological storage of CO2, the ranking of these storage options was performed using two methods of ...Lola Tomić, Vesna Karović Maričić, Dušan Danilović, Branko Leković, Miroslav Crnogorac. Projection of SO2 emissions in coal power plants in Serbia
Aleksandar Madžarević, Predrag Jovančić, Stevan Đenadić, Filip Miletić, Miodrag Ristović, Miroslav Crnogorac (2023)The production of electricity in the countries of South-Eastern Europe (SEE) was mainly related to the use of coal, predominantly lignite. The total installed capacity of thermal power plants using coal in these seven countries is 17.813 MW, distributed in 31 thermoblocks. The mentioned plants are the dominant pollutant emitters in all observed countries. Data on the largest emitters in the countries of the European Union and a comparison with SEE countries were collected. Anticipated sulfur dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants
Aleksandar Madžarevic, Predrag Jovančić, Stevan Đenadić, Filip Miletić, Miodrag Ristović, Miroslav Crnogorac (2024)Southeastern Europe (SEE), which includes Serbia, along with Germany and Poland, is one of the largest producers of solid fuels in Europe. Despite growing environmental concerns, coal, especially lignite, persists and remains the dominant fuel for electricity generation in this region. Concurrently, these power plants emerge as the predominant emitters of pollutants in all the observed states. To conduct a comprehensive analysis, data on major emitters within the European Union were gathered, allowing for a detailed comparison with SEE ...Aleksandar Madžarevic, Predrag Jovančić, Stevan Đenadić, Filip Miletić, Miodrag Ristović, Miroslav Crnogorac.
