Savanović, Nataša Tomić, Aleksandar Kremenović, Maja Šćepanović, Mirjana Grujić-Brojčin, Jovana Ćirković, Stevan Armaković (2023)Due to the inability of conventional wastewater treatment procedures to remove organic pharmaceutical pollutants, active pharmaceutical components remain in wastewater and even reach tap water. In terms of pharmaceutical pollutants, the scientific community focuses on -blockers due to their extensive (over)usage and moderately high solubility. In this study, the photocatalytic activity of V2O5 was investigated through the degradation of nadolol (NAD), pindolol (PIN), metoprolol (MET), and their mixture under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation in water. Fault type assessment based on vertical gravity gradient anomalies – advantages and limitations
The type of dip-slip faults can be assessed based on the analysis of vertical gravity gradients. Theoretically, just a simple comparation of the gradient extreme values can give us an answer whether the fault is normal or reverse (thrust). Practical application of this method is far more complicated and the results depend on a number of parameters, such as a complexity of geological setting, the quality of gravity data, dip angle and displacement of the fault, density contrast, etc. ...... Microstructural and magnetic properties of electrospun hematite/cuprospinel composites
Phase composition, microstructural and magnetic properties of electrospun hematite/cuprospinel composites were investigated. Samples were synthesized starting with 0 to 10 mol% of copper relative to iron. The round shape of reference electrospun fbres was preserved upon their heating up to 600 °C in air, whereas at 700 °C hollow substructure was additionally formed. In these reference samples the presence of hematite phase was detected by XRPD. Improving Document Retrieval in Large Domain Specific Textual Databases Using Lexical Resources
Large collections of textual documents represent an example of big data that requires the solution of three basic problems: the representation of documents, the representation of information needs and the matching of the two representations. This paper outlines the introduction of document indexing as a possible solution to document representation. Documents within a large textual database developed for geological projects in the Republic of Serbia for many years were indexed using methods developed within digital humanities: bag-of-words and named ...... Savić, Snežana D. Savić (2021)Poor water solubility of new chemical entities is considered as one of the main obstacles in drug development, as it usually leads to low bioavailability after administration. To overcome these problems, the selection of the appropriate formulation technology needs to be based on the physicochemical properties of the drug and introduced in the early stages of drug research. Laboratory and polygon tests gave the satisfactory results and knowledge enough to start the practical experiments in the field. The basis of this innovation is a theoretical assumption that certain chemical mixtures release a large quantity of gases during combustion. Agent-based modeling as a support to an expert-based approach: Exploring individual heating systems transition
Expert-based energy scenarios are mainly developed following assumptions of experts and, in most cases, a limited number of stakeholders. Such an approach will provide satisfactory results in centrally managed energy sectors where further decisions could be envisaged relatively precisely (electricity production/distribution, district heating systems, etc.). The same approach will provide more uncertain outcomes of future energy structure in the household sector, where decisions related to consumption, selection of energy source, or application of specific technology are made by numerous ...Energetska tranzicija, Grejanje domaćinstava, Individualni sistemi grejanja, Energetsko planiranje, Integrisano energetsko planiranje, ABM, LEAP, SrbijaBoban Pavlović, Marija Živković, Dejan Ivezić. Fuzzy expert analysis of the severity of mining machinery failure
Mining machinery failure is almost an everyday occurrence. Usually the failures bare certain consequences, which require additional financial costs to repair and restore the system to its operational state. The consequences are viewed through negative and damaging effects a failure has on the machine, health and safety of the employees, work environment, and on the environment. The removal of the consequences of the failure requires additional financial investment, which has a negative impact on the company’s business. In order ...Dejan V. Coupling of artificial intelligence methods in the development of hybrid intelligent systems
In this paper we present an approach which couples various artificial intelligence (AI) methods in the solution of complex problems that cannot adequately be solved by a single AI method.
