Development of a petrographic classification system for organic particles affected by self-heating in coal waste. (An ICCP Classification System, Self-heating Working Group – Commission III)

Predeanu, S. Pusz, J. Ribeiro, S. Rodrigues, A.K. Singh, I. Suárez-Ruiz, I. Sýkorová, N.J. Wagner, D. Životić (2020)Self-heating of coal waste is a major problem in the leading coal-producing and consuming countries, independent of the recent or past coal exploitation history. The phenomenon of self-heating is dependent on many factors such as the properties of organic matter (maceral composition and rank), moisture and pyrite content, climate effects, and storage conditions (shape of the dump or compaction of the coal waste). Once deposited, coal waste undergoes oxidation, which can lead to self- heating with the overall temperatures ...M. Misz-Kennan, J. Kus, D. Flores, C. Avila, Z. Büçkün, N. Choudhury, K. Density maps from gravity inversion as a tool for the basin basement analysis and imaging
Ivana Vasiljević (2023)Previously devised method for density mapping of the Cenozoic basin’s basement is further developed in order to improve the visualization and geological interpretation of the results. The method combines gravity-density inversion with forward modeling and requires gravity anomaly and depth-to-basement data. Although it was primarily designed for application in well-researched basins, such as Pannonian basin, method does not require further constrains. An information on density distribution in the Cenozoic sediments (from density logging or core density measurements) is important ...Ivana Vasiljević. Risk Evaluation: Brief Review and Innovation Model Based on Fuzzy Logic and MCDM
Stevan Djenadic, Milos Tanasijevic, Predrag Jovancic, Dragan Ignjatovic, Dejan Petrovic, Ugljesa Bugaric (2022)The risk assessment of engineering systems represents an important part of the quality of service and dependability. The existing methods for risk evaluation use crisp sets for rating partial indicators’ proposition and their cumulative products as an overall indicator. In this paper, existing FMEA and FMECA methods have been improved using the fuzzy expert system for calculating the risk priority number. The application of fuzzy logic allows the use of linguistic descriptions for risk analysis. In this way, the ...Stevan Djenadic, Milos Tanasijevic, Predrag Jovancic, Dragan Ignjatovic, Dejan Petrovic, Ugljesa Bugaric. Availability as a dimension of energy security in the Republic of Serbia
Boban Pavlović, Dejan Ivezić (2016)There is a range of modern approaches and models in literature for the evaluation and determination of energy security, which are based on different parameters and indicators. For most of them, a common characteristic is emphasizing the avail ability of energy, as an important dimension for ensuring energy security. In this paper, concise overview of Serbian energy sectors is given and appropriate energy indicators are defined and determined. Selected indicators provide insight into the main components that characterize availability ...... Serbian SS is very low and additional activities in oil and gas exploration should be undertaken. Life Cycle Assessment of Individual Wood Biomass Heating Systems in Households
The use of solid fuels (wood biomass and coal) for heating of households continues to be common practice within European countries. Solid fuel combustion in households contributes more than 46% to total emissions of fine particulate matter. In this study, a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of firewood-based and pellet-based heating systems is performed. These two systems represent two different types of individual wood biomass heating systems. In the case of the firewood-based heating systems, it is analyzed a typical stove ...... environment and climate change, and at the same time, it ensures the financial benefits through savings and conservation of natural resources. This research showed that the implementation of LCA for assessing heating systems is an efficient and relatively simple method for obtaining new information regarding ...
