Projecting short to medium-term effects of carbon emissions trading on Serbia's GDP
Boban Pavlović, Nikola Trtica (2024)This paper presents an approach to assess the short to medium-term effects of the Emissions Trading System (ETS), an economic and climate policy instrument aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, on GDP from the expenditure side. The analysis focuses on Serbia’s electricity sector, which relies heavily on lignite-based pro duction dominated by state-owned enterprises. The obtained projections suggest that in the short term, the introduction of an ETS may lead to slower GDP growth compared to official forecasts. However, ...... economic stability and progress (World Bank, 2024). Projected real GDP growth for 2025, 2026, and 2027 expects an additional acceleration to the range of 4.5%, in line with the new investment cycle (National Bank of Serbia, 2025).
Classification of Terms on a Positive-Negative Feelings Polarity Scale Based on Emoticons
Mihailo Škorić (2017)The goal of this paper is to draw attention to the possibility of using emoticon-riddled text on the web in language-neutral sentiment analysis. It introduces several innovations in the existing framework of research and tests their effectiveness. It also presents a software tool especially made for that purpose, explains how it builds a database with sentimental value of terms and offers the user manual. Finally, it presents a software tool that tests the new database and gives some examples ...... determiner <3 (higher agreement – over 60% of respondents agree on one answer) and determiner ;) (lower agreement – five most commonly chosen responses in range of just 5.7%). Effects of Energy Production and Consumption on Air Pollution in Serbia
Marija Živković (2019)Energy production and combustion, mostly from unregulated or inefficient fuel combustion, are the single most important anthropogenic sources of air pollutant emissions. Energy sector in Serbia is highly fossil fuel intensive: 87.88% of energy consumed in Serbia is related to fossil fuels, while almost 95% of energy sources are combusted. In 2017. energy related carbon dioxide emission in Serbia is was 47.95 million tones. The main source of carbon dioxide emission was coal, responsible for almost 70% of energy ...... local combustion temperature, etc). This means that there is no single level of emissions per unit of a specific fuel (emission factor) but, rather, a range of emission factors depending on such variables 4.
